Hairdressing Tutor (Full & Part-time)


Key Responsibilities:
  • To deliver sufficient information to learners of Portlaoise College of Beauty in an efficient and professional manner as per course content.
  • Flexibility with regards to working hours and changes to schedule
  • To support and work in accordance with Portlaoise College of Beauty procedures & regulations
  • To watch stock levels and report to Principal if levels are low.
  • To support all learners equally and help them to achieve results to the best of their ability.
  • To help deal with queries from learners within their class as best they can with best interest of the college in mind.
  • Constant awareness of up to date Knowledge of changes and developments within the hairdressing and beauty industry.
  • Preparation for practical and theory examinations and all relevant paperwork in accordance with Portlaoise College of Beauty.
  • Attendance at practical examinations.
  • To liaise with the Principal and educational team in relation to any issues that may arise.
  • Furnish learners with notes and necessary information in accordance with the syllabus and recommended book list.

The ideal candidate:

  • Must have a minimum of 3 years experience working in Hairdressing or a similar environment.
  • Have completed an ITEC Hairdressing course or recognized equivalent including all specialised areas in hairdressing.
  • Have teaching or training experience with recognized Teaching qualification preferable.
  • Up to date knowledge on trends within the hair and beauty industry.
  • Enthusiastic and committed to supporting learners.

Tutors are provided with course syllabuses and recommended texts essential for courses, but are expected to exploit other relevant teaching materials to enrich the learners tuition
