Sharon Leavy - College Director

My mission at The Sharon Leavy College of Hair & Beauty is to identify with our students and to ensure that each student is given the best support to assist their educational journey. I believe that with the correct amount of personal and professional growth a student can overcome any obstacles or challenges they may incur. My wish for my students is for them to ‘become the best version of themselves’.
The Sharon Leavy College of Hair and Beauty was born in 2010. The college was originally formulated in 1997 as a Beauty College, since Sharon’s takeover she has strived to develop the college to be the best education center it possibly can be. Taking it from just the delivery of Beauty course’s to now training in all aspects of Hair, Barbering, Beauty, Nails, Lashes, and Teacher Training courses to name a few.
From very early on into her career it was clear that Sharon had great mentoring skills and this was showcased when she became Spa manager on the luxury Steiner ships. As spa manager, she was solely responsible for the daily spa operations, developing vendor relations, overseeing and motivating spa sales, implementing strategies to achieve performance targets, ensuring guests were satisfied, while at the same time training and mentoring staff.
Sharon advocates that all her students must be capable, competent and most importantly passionate about their choice of career. She believes that, in listening, talking and identifying with a prospective student the correct career path can be chosen from the wide variety of Diploma, Certificates and Award courses that the college offers.
With the attainment of CIDESCO, CIBTAC, ITEC and VTCT qualifications our students will have several opportunities available to them. They may choose to travel the world on a cruise ship, work within their given trade, manage a salon /spa or even endeavor to open their own business.
Wherever the student is on their journey we have accredited courses on our curriculum to facilitate their learning whether they are at the beginning or a post-graduate who wishes to advance their studies.

SLC encourages a learning environment that focuses on developing the learner’s skills in conjunction with their knowledge. We promote self-growth and confidence in our learners, as this will assist them when they enter the working community. With knowledge and personal growth comes empowerment and we believe all our students need to be empowered so they can take control of their future destiny with in the Hair and Beauty industry.
